“August Highlights: Key Updates and Insights from the Principal”

We are starting this month with fantastic news! Congratulations to all our MYP5 students (Currently DP1), Ms Supriya our MYP coordinator, teachers, and parents for their hard work and achievements. It’s great to see such positive results, and I’m sure the students will continue to excel in their IB DP journey. Well done to everyone involved! I had a discussion with the students about their experiences in preparing for the MYP e-assessments. They shared what strategies were effective and offered advice for their MYP peers. Key points included effective time management, a strong grasp of key concepts, thorough understanding of the assessment criteria, and strategies for responding during the assessments. An important point they mentioned was that this was a process that started in MYP 1. They will be sharing these insights and more with the MYP 4 and 5 students in the coming week. Over the past two weeks, I have had numerous interactions with teachers and students, whether through brief class visits or quick lunchtime conversations. The students have spent the initial days of the week engaging in Learning to Learn activities, establishing expectations and routines. We have emphasized the importance of wearing the correct uniform and being punctual. Teachers have communicated these expectations to students at school and shared them with parents through our weekly updates. We kindly ask parents to support us in reinforcing these expectations. We would like to inform you that our IB evaluation visit is scheduled for the 7th, 8th, and 9th of August. During this time, we will have six virtual guests at our school who will observe lessons and meet with teachers, leaders, the Governing Board, and some students and parents. There will be no changes to the school schedule during this visit. August marks the celebration of India’s Independence Day, a time to honour our diverse cultures, community, and the best of who we are. This year, we would like to invite our parents to join in the festivities. Further details will be shared with you shortly. Looking forward to meeting you all at school on the 15th of August.
