Ritayush represented India as the national flag bearer.

Krtin Maheshwari (MYP 4), Aratrika Dasgupta (MYP 3), and Ritayush Dey (MYP4) from Oakridge International School Bengaluru brought accolades at the World Scholar’s Cup global round in Bangkok. This large-scale event witnessed over 1000 scholars competing from around 15 countries worldwide.

Students from Oakridge International School Bengaluru competed in the team debate, collaborative writing, scholar’s challenge (written test), and the team bowl (digital multimedia test). Oakridgers were the only team from Bangalore competing in the senior category.

All three students did exceptionally well, being individual and team medalists in every category except the scholar’s challenge. Aratrika grabbed an extra medal for being a junior scholar competing in the senior division.

“Overall, it was a truly fascinating experience. The event itself was extremely energetic and competitive and the exposure we got from this event was something we had never experienced before”, says Ritayush. “In fact, I even had the privilege to be the flag bearer for India on the final day during the closing ceremony. The feeling of carrying our national flag in front of so many people on a global forum was truly something special, adds Ritayush.

Students interacted with people from various countries and learned new things across unconventional and unique subject areas.
