We proudly summarize the first month of 2025 since its start to celebrate all accomplishments and noteworthy events that united the Oakridge community through creative efforts. Students at Oakridge demonstrated outstanding performances as we celebrate our national heroes while developing their talents and cultivating meaningful relationships across various areas of achievement. This month was filled with memorable achievements that elevated students’ learning experience and strengthened our school community.
Students from Grade 2A performed drenched in emotion to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day and showed his remarkable history. Through the impactful representations of King’s life, the students taught valuable lessons about justice while emphasizing equality and peace.
The school witnessed its annual Rock-Climbing Competition for Grades 4 to 12 students on 24 January, demonstrating perseverance together with athletic abilities. Students from Pascal, Picasso, Shakespeare, and Mozart Houses competed fiercely, scaling new heights with incredible speed and precision, earning impressive scores in the process.

The development of our students’ holistic nature stands as a core value at Oakridge. The current month of January brought honor to our students through their exceptional accomplishments in every field which demonstrates our determination to achieve excellence.
1.Bisman’s Recognition at Shiv Nadar University
The Shiv Nadar University Winter Program celebrated Bisman with the Young Thinker Forum Award. The prestigious award demonstrates both Bisman’s active intellectual pursuit and her dedication to innovative approaches.
2. Rishi Dewan – National Championship Qualifier
Rishi Dewan Gandhi from Grade 9 earned a spot in the National Championship, 10M Pistol Event. Rishi’s tremendous accomplishment in sports stands as an excellent demonstration of his determination and battling spirit.
3. Taanish Nanda’s Double Victory at CS7 Championship
Taanish Nanda from Grade 7A established Oakridge’s prominence when he earned the Singles championship in both U-14 and U-16 divisions at the 2025 All India Tennis Association – Championship Series (CS7) competition held at Zirakpur. We proudly celebrate Taanish’s dedication toward his achievements as he excels through both athletic tournaments and school activities.
4. Silver Glory: Dilraj and Manveer Shine at the International Table Soccer Cup
Another remarkable accomplishment was when Dilraj and Manveer proudly brought home the Silver Medal from the Under-19 Women’s Doubles competition at the Fatehgarh Sahib International Table Soccer Cup. We sincerely congratulate and acknowledge Dilraj and Manveer for their outstanding performance, while expressing great enthusiasm for their continued excellence.
We are delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our talented students in dance and choreography.

In addition, to this Aarna, Bhavvya, and Aanya had the incredible opportunity to participate in a workshop conducted by renowned Bollywood choreographers Sagar Bora and Akanksha.

The teaching at Oakridge occurs outside standard educational areas. We have incorporated field trips into our curriculum structure because they offer students direct experiential learning opportunities which deepen their understanding of their surroundings. During this month our Grade 3A and 3B students travelled to Anandpur Sahib for a memorable educational field expedition that allowed them to learn about the historical and cultural richness of the area. Our educational field trips supplement academic knowledge by nurturing student curiosity along with promoting awareness for diverse realities that make up our world.
On January 24th our esteemed Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, delivered a comprehensive session to outline health and safety responsibilities. The entire team received increased emphasis during the session to preserve their as well the students’ health safety as their utmost priority.
During this month, we also accomplished the feedback from the extensive PYP curriculum quality evaluation that turned out to be overwhelmingly positive as per our assessment results. The successful evaluation served as further confirmation that Oakridge maintains its dedication to inculcate inquiry-based attributes that builds active compassionate lifelong learners.
