Primary Years Programme

With diverse learning methods and a core parent-teacher partnership, your child will become a lifelong learner

In these early years, every day is an opportunity for astounding growth. Your little one will thrive in our developmentally-centered programmes that embrace the principle of learning through play. Safe to explore, each child is supported and encouraged.

Our outstanding Early Years Programme via IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) covers Nursery to Grade 5 and is taught in nurturing and inspiring purpose-built learning spaces by dedicated and highly qualified and trained teachers who support every aspect of your child’s learning. At Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, we want your child to have fun, be happy, safe and secure at all times. We want to inspire them to become purposeful, confident and lifelong learners.

Learning Through

Play

The youngest members of our community embrace the fun and nurturing programmes in our Toddler, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes. We understand that at this age your child learns through play, so we use a play-based developmental approach in these early years. Our specially-designed classrooms will allow your child to experience safe and exciting learning both indoors and outside. As your child discovers the world, our teachers are there to nurture, encourage and guide.

We value your role as parents, and your child’s primary teacher will work in partnership with you to strive for the best learning experience possible. Together, we begin to lay the foundation for your child’s personal, academic and global future. Understanding that each youngster has a unique set of needs and abilities, we help your child develop critical thinking, creativity and interpersonal skills.

Being one of the top IB schools in Hyderabad, we focus on learning, not just on teaching. We believe your child deserves a different type of education: one that will better prepare them for the future, whatever it may bring. By focusing on each individual child’s learning style and setting individualised goals, our teachers bring out the very best in each student.

What is the secret to our students’ success? A high calibre of teacher training and ongoing professional development opportunities that are unique in the Hyderabad area, along with curricula that allow each student to be part of their own learning process.

Nearly all our teachers are certified academicians, where differentiated learning is an important part of their training. Setting individualised expectations for students based on each child’s specific needs is something that comes quite naturally.

Our Early Years provision enables your child to develop their personalities, talents and abilities, enabling them to develop a strong sense of self, feel positive about their abilities as a learner, form constructive relationships and become confident communicators.

The Importance of

Technology in Learning

During learning and play, they are supported and encouraged to; find out and explore, play with what they know, be willing to ‘have a go’, be involved, to concentrate, keep trying, collaborate, enjoy achieving what they set out to do, have their own ideas, make links and choose different ways to do things. The use of technology is embedded in all areas of learning and used to enhance and reinforce the various learning opportunities.

Our IB Primary Years Programme prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. Your child will take part in learning and development as the cornerstone of the entire Primary Years Program:

  • Learning and Developing – students are self-directed in their own learning along with the flexibility this program provides to inquire into their learning.
  • Positive Relationships – Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and careers.
  • Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending a child’s development and learning.
  • A Unique Child – every child is a competent learner from birth and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
