Recognizing Excellence: British Council International School Award 2019-22

Being a vibrant community that tops in the international education system, Oakridge prides itself on maintaining high standards in developing global citizenship in our students. With an exemplary national and international reputation, we have been consistently making it to the top international schools in India. Oakridge Bachupally, a Nord Anglia Education School has set a new milestone by being accredited with the prestigious International School Award 2019-2022 from British Council.

This award honors schools who have shown commitment towards embedding international awareness and understanding within the school. Various parameters like Magnitude of International Dimension in curriculum activities, Collaborative learning initiatives with a school outside India and global exposure opportunities given to students are considered for this prestigious accreditation. In addition to this, some major academic parameters like student learning evaluation systems and practices, subject-related learning outcomes and evidence of action plan are also key factors that are involved in evaluating the school for this award.

ISA (International School Award) was introduced in India in the year 2003 and has since then has become a major validation for schools actively implementing Global citizenship among students. The International School Award now has a presence in 31 countries worldwide.

Oakridge has constantly evolved it’s curriculum delivery to ensure every single student gets the right global exposure to hold them in good stead in this globally interconnected world. A range of programs like MUN’s, SGLI, and Skype sessions with foreign schools have ensured active global integration in the school environment. Add to this, the recent addition of the Nord Anglia Global campus program that connects every student to over 64000 students across 66 schools worldwide has surely taken collaborative learning to an all-new level.

The recent introduction of the NAU (Nord Anglia University) online learning platform allows our teacher to connect with teachers around the world to learn and share international best practices so that our teachers can create transformative learning experiences within our classrooms.

Speaking on the occasion, School Director, Devidutta Kanungo said, “At Oakridge International School Bachupally, our aim is to prepare leaders for whom the whole world is the oyster. Internationalism and leadership development is at the very core of our philosophy and the British Council International School Award for the second time is just a validation of this core philosophy”.
