About the PSAT

The PSAT, or Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, is a crucial step for students aiming to excel in their academic journey. It not only provides a preview of the SAT but also opens doors to scholarship opportunities and the prestigious title of National Merit Scholar. The PSAT assesses students’ readiness in math, reading, and writing, offering valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement.

The PSAT and SAT are similar, making the PSAT a useful exercise for SAT preparation. Taking the PSAT can give students an idea of what to expect from the SAT, including the test format, its structure, and the types of material it covers. It can also help students qualify for scholarship opportunities and identify areas for improvement.

Different Forms of the PSAT

Our school will administer the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10, catering to students from grades 8 to 10. This initiative aligns with our mission to provide comprehensive support and resources to our students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future academic endeavors.

The exam comes in three forms:

• PSAT 8/9: For students in the eighth and ninth grades, with scores ranging from 240 to 1440.
• PSAT/NMSQT: For students in the tenth and eleventh grades, with scores ranging from 320 to 1520.
• PSAT 10: For tenth graders, with scores ranging from 320 to 1520.
