Hot Seating the War Photographer

As part of our IBDP 1 Language & Literature study of War Photographer by Carol Ann Duffy, students participated in a Hot-Seating Activity to explore the photographer’s emotions and ethical dilemmas.

Taking turns as war photographers and journalists, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions, analyzing the conflict between professional duty and personal impact. To deepen their understanding, they examined Nick Ut’s iconic “Napalm Girl” (1972), drawing connections between real-world war photography and Duffy’s critique of media desensitization.

This interactive session fostered critical thinking, empathy, and literary analysis, making the poem more impactful and relevant to students.

SEAMEI Teaching & Learning Conference

The SEAMEI conference on the theme “Leadership” held in the last week of February in Abu Dhabi was not just a learning event; it was a catalyst for actionable change.

Our Sports HOD Mr Joseph Collen presented a paper on “Shaping Lives Through Leadership: Empowering Future Generations”, focusing on fostering essential skills like sports leadership, teamwork, and goal setting-skills.

The workshop led by Ms Divya Saxena & Ms Dorothy Bosco explored strategies for fostering inclusive leadership and collaboration within educational settings.

Annual Celebration of Arts

Visual Arts in IB curriculum encourages students to challenge their own creative and cultural expectations and boundaries. Learners from EYP to DP experiment with diverse media and explore techniques for making art throughout the academic year.

Join OAK MOSAIC on 7th & 8th March to understand how our brilliant learners develop concepts through processes informed by skills, techniques and media.

Remembrance, Hope, Care, and Celebration

We invite Oakridge Parents to our upcoming Relay for Life Walkathon organised in association with Indian Cancer Society. This will be an overnight event at the Oakridge International School Bengaluru campus.

Relay For Life is an initiative taken by our very own Social Outreach Committee to come together as a community and raise funds for the Indian Cancer Society (ICS). ICS provides support to cancer patients, funding research, and creating cancer awareness campaigns across India.

What makes this event even more exciting is that it is the first-ever student-led Walkathon in Bangalore! See you on 21st March at 6pm in school!
