  • 21 January 2025

Here’s an interview with Kashvi Srinivasan from IBDP 2 at Oakridge International School, Bengaluru after she received early offer from Duke University!

How do you feel?

I feel relieved without the stress of college applications, and I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to attend my dream university. It’s exciting to be able to further my interest in biomedical engineering. It’s a huge milestone for me, and I can’t wait for what lies ahead.

Are you looking forward to more offers or confirmed this choice?

I was admitted under the binding Early Decision plan, so I have officially enrolled at Duke and withdrawn my other applications.

How does your teachers, friends & career guidance cell support you in school?

Teachers at Oakridge have always been there to support me, both academically and otherwise. At Oakridge, learning is always personalized. I can approach my teachers and the counselor at any time of the day to ask questions. I’m happy that my classmates are always there to support me. Oakridge’s career guidance makes me feel confident that I’m making informed decisions about my future.

A tip/strategy you would share with those who are preparing for placements next year

It’s important to plan the colleges you want to apply to based on how well they fit you, not just by their rankings. When applying to colleges in the US, you should show your personality in your application, because grades and test scores are not always enough. College applications can be stressful and a lot of work, so you should plan your college list well and keep track of deadlines. You should also keep in mind that this stress is temporary, and you can be happy regardless of the colleges you end up getting into.
