Update from the Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, and staff,

Greetings!

I am immensely proud and delighted to be a part of the Oakridge International School Bengaluru and Nord Anglia Education. The drive to make learning meaningful for all students has inspired me for all these years and I feel grateful to collaborate with all of you in this journey of learning and growing.

It has been a week that I have been at Bangalore, I received a warm welcome from the school team and NAE India office. Mr. Christopher Short, our Managing Director-India visited us early last week to help me get started at school.

I have been learning about school and individuals by spending time in various meetings at school and with our NAE leaders, dropping into training sessions and trying to informally meet up with the teams during coffee or lunch breaks. My interactions this week have given me insight into the school operations, about the working of the school, and have helped me settle into the new space. We also welcomed our new teaching team members to school last week.

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer break and are now gearing up for the new school year. I look forward to welcoming you all to school along with our enthusiastic team of teachers who have been planning, learning, and collaborating for our learners to have a wonderful experience at school. The facilities teams have been working hard to ensure every space at school is ready and safe for our students. We just had an audit for all our electrical equipment, the admin area is getting refurbishment, the buses are getting ready, and a new cafeteria partner is already up and running at school.

At the heart of a school is learning and continuous learning is the key to our being successful as a school. Last week all our new and returning teachers attended 2 days of intensive training conducted by IB trainers to enhance their knowledge in the EYP, PYP, MYP and DP domains. This week we introduced our DP 1 learners to the course with a Bridge Programme that discusses subject choices, placement assistance, and more.

I am thrilled to welcome our students and parents in a phased manner on the following dates:

19th July Friday – MYP 1 to 5 – New student & parent Orientation

20th July Saturday – DP1 – New Parent Orientation

20th July Saturday – PYP 1 to 5 AEM #1 – Returning Parents

20th July Saturday – MYP & DP AEM #1 with CT – Returning Parents
