Ms. Vidya and Ms. Indrani, science facilitators at Oakridge International School, Bangalore, had the privilege of attending the exhibition and launch of the South Asia and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) collaboration at the Science Gallery on 18th January.

During the event, they had the opportunity to meet Michael John Gorman, Director of the MIT Museum, whose inspiring speech made a lasting impact. They also discussed how the collaboration between MIT and Nord Anglia Education has created unique opportunities for students and teachers. Both students and faculty are enthusiastic about participating in the annual MIT workshops held in Boston.

The exhibition, South Asia and the MIT Institute, explores the shared history between MIT and South Asia, beginning with the enrollment of the first student from British-ruled India in 1880. It highlights MIT’s pivotal role in South Asia’s nation-building efforts following independence in 1947.

Renowned speakers at the event included Narayana Murthy, Co-Founder of Infosys, Michael John Gorman, and other distinguished professionals and experts. The exhibition also celebrates the contributions of MIT’s South Asian alumni, faculty, and researchers, while showcasing the region’s significant influence on MIT’s academic and cultural growth.
