July 08, 2022

Dear Parents,

Hope you are doing good! We at Oakridge are super excited  to share the great news with you all. Keeping up with the legacy of academic excellence, Oakridge International School, Gachibowli has recorded outstanding IBDP results 2022 yet again.   The average score is 34, higher than the IB global average and we have a perfect score of 45 again this year, making a record for attaining perfect score as the highest for three years in a row.

The DP exams were called off for the previous two batches due to the pandemic. This particular batch of students had fought all the odds while attending the virtual school for almost 18 months and appeared for their exams this year. I am proud of them as they have  displayed their excellent adaptability quotient and we have 12 students who have achieved 40 points and above giving us 16.6% of the total cohort.  We believe in raising the bar for ourselves and will continue to train our students to excel.

For this academic year 2022-23 we have a lot of exciting and new programmes in store including the Nord Anglia Expeditions. Currently candidates for the  prefectorial elections of the junior school are being interviewed. We will soon have a fresh batch of student council for the juniors.  Few of the programmes scheduled in the coming weeks are – UNICEF Summit, where two of the DP students will be representing our school as UNICEF ambassadors. Prefect Leadership Camp will be conducted at the Golden Boulder at Khilla Ghanpur, Girl’s in STEAM – an initiative by the Government of Telangana ‘WeHub’ and the 12th edition of Oakridge MUN.  Also, we will soon be starting after-school activities that will focus on sports training and extra curricular activities, including clubs, robotics, film-making and  entrepreneurship programmes .

As you are aware we have successfully run DNA as a pilot project for Grade 2 and Grade 6 and now will be looking into the new aspects of DNA in the current run of the pilot project and that will be metacognition in DNA.

We are actively preparing for the IB evaluation and look forward to a successful evaluation towards the end of this calendar year. As we continue with our endeavor of re-defining excellence in every aspect of education, we will be reaching out to you for parent involvement in focus group discussions, parent partner programmes etc. Also, we will  be starting with coffee mornings soon, initially with new parents. In the meantime we are more than happy to connect with all the other parents if required. Please send an email and we will get back to you.

While things look positive and exciting with seemingly good times ahead, please do take care of your health and be cautious of covid safety protocols. Let’s keep ourselves safe!

Warm Regards

Hema Chennupaty
