Oakridge Summer Camp opened doors for fun, excitement and learning
- 27 June 2022
After two years of wait, Oakridge Summer Camp was conducted physically, where students were engaged in Swimming, Power Bhangra, Soccer, and Art and Craft sessions. Oakridge Summer Camp was an enthralling experience for one and all attending the camp.
The camp was open for students of EYP2 (called UKG in non-IB Curriculums) to Grade 10 of both Oakridge and other schools. Oakridge Summer Camp provides a safe setting for youngsters to set themselves free and have a good time. The majority of camp activities focus on having fun while simultaneously teaching youngsters life skills, building resilience and fostering their creativity.
Right from the first step of child into the school, the best safety and security measures were adhered to. Swimming lessons were taken under special supervision of our in-house Swimming Instructor and a lifeguard. Non- Oakridger Jaitsree Kaur quoted: “I was a complete beginner and had never done swimming before. After listening about the Summer Camp at Oakridge Mohali, I could not wait to learn swimming along with other participating in other activities. Under the expert guidance of Ms. Shiuli, I was able to master the basic swimming techniques in just two days and by the end of camp, I am more than happy to share that I can swim pretty well now. Thanks to Oakridge Mohali for providing such a wonderful opportunity to non-Oakridgers as well.”
Oakridge Summer Camp is an excellent approach to encourage youngsters who are too sedentary to live a much more active life, reducing their screen time. Actively participating in fun and fitness activities like Soccer and Power Bhangra, not only helped the children to explore the new moves, but to build other key skills like team-spirit, coordination and stamina.
Art and Craft lessons were also thoroughly enjoyed by the children due to their therapeutic nature, where the creative side of a child’s mind is triggered. They made various mini projects out of some readily available material, which they took home on the final showcase, where parents were also invited to witness the learning journey of their children.
Our activity coordinator, Ms. Mansi Chaudhary quoted:
“Our summer camps at Oakridge Mohali are packed with adrenaline-fuelled adventures, opportunities to forge new friendships, and expertly crafted programs designed to inspire your child’s confidence, creativity, and resilience.”
Various eminent newspapers like Times Of India, Hindustan Times, Dainik Bhaskar, Rozana Spokesman, Dainik Savera and Punjabi Jagran highlighted the successful summer camp:
