We proudly conclude the academic session 2024-25 since its start to celebrate all accomplishments and noteworthy events that united the Oakridge community through creative efforts. Oakridge, this month was filled with memorable celebrations, orientations and achievements that left lasting impressions on students’ learning experience and strengthened our school community.
The EYP 2 Graduation Day turned out to be an exceptional and overwhelming event, accompanied by our proud parent community, who rejoiced in the accomplishments of their children. It was a gala celebration, as parents watched their little ones perform various dance performances, showcasing their excitement as they prepare to unfold a new chapter in their lives.
The academic year for our Secondary Grades 10, 11, and 12 students officially started this month. A fresh start with a short yet vibrant meditation session, aiming to strengthen the schoolwork-life balance to achieve future objectives. Students received our warmest wishes as they began the upcoming academic year.
Another grand event that took centre stage was the seamless transition from Grade 5 to Grade 6, where parents shared their heartfelt journeys and experiences with us. Students from Grade 4 provided a graceful Graduation Day start by warmly welcoming all new Grade 6 students with elegance. Grade 5 students left the school spellbound through their amazing theatrical and dance showcases, embarking upon their new journey.
At the All India Open Lawn Tennis Championship, Jangfateh Singh of Grade 5 won two gold medals in the Under-10 Singles and Under-12 Singles and Doubles events. His accomplishment grew from his unwavering dedication and intense love for tennis, which made all of us proudly cheer him on.
Class 4B student Rudransh Sharma built an operational model of a nuclear power plant, showcasing how it generates energy, explaining its multiple uses. His work project displayed both his scientific thinking capabilities and imaginative strength alongside his curiosity about the world.
The PYP students concluded their academic year through an impressive exhibition of projects inspired by MIT and Walking reflecting on challenges faced and opportunities unlocked, preparing them for a future driven by creativity and problem-solving. The students showed extraordinary creativity along with excellent problem-solving skills throughout the event which helped them review their achievements and work of the year.
IBDP1, IGCSE & Grade 10 students enthusiastically celebrated Pi Day, which included educational puzzles, creating rangoli designs, engaging experiments and delivering presentations prepared, offering them an exciting exposure, deepening their interest in learning mathematical concepts.
The Oakridge community celebrated female colleagues during the International Women’s Day celebration in March. Our esteemed Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra and the school leadership team provided their female colleagues with sincere tokens of appreciation acknowledging their commitment and resilience.
Nursery students participated in an unforgettable tour of the Mohali Fire Station during this month. Students gained knowledge about fire safety by observing firefighting equipment and close-up inspections of firefighter gear. The fire station educational experience combined with fun activities allowed students to understand better how firefighters provide service to their community.
During a virtual guest lecture, the Grade 1 students heard from author Ms. Karen Hardwicke, who creates stories about deaf children from UK schools. Ms. Hardwicke described her roles as both writer and mother of a child with hearing loss. Students were truly captivated during her powerful storytelling as she explained how stories serve to learn about various perspectives. The students found the lecture inspiring because they uncovered various communication methods during this educational talk.
