Principal Desk Update March 2022
- 16 March 2022
Dear Parents
Hope you all are doing well!
“Although no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.” – Carl Bard.
We are towards the end of the academic year, looking backward I must say- what a wonderful year it was! I congratulate each one of you on the successful completion of the academic session, which created a lot of learning experiences for each one of us. Standing together as a community (students, parents, and school staff), despite the uncertainties, made consistent learning possible.
The month of March is full of enthusiasm and zeal and has a festive mood. Celebrating International Women’s Week and preparing for upcoming Holi celebrations, the school is hued in the colors of spring.
Last weekend was a special one, especially for the PYP Segment. I would like to congratulate Grade EYP2 and Grade 5 learners for graduating and celebrating their year-long learning with family, friends, and teachers.
Educators at Oakridge International School Mohali aspire towards ensuring that every child learns, every moment, to become everything that they can. Teachers planned a special in-house event, named ‘Next Steps’ to welcome EYP 2 (old) into Grade 1 (new), where parents got a chance to interact with teachers and students got a chance to have a glimpse of what Grade 1 learning looks like via fun activities.
We also welcomed new members into the Oakridge Family via Curriculum Familiarization and Parent Orientation Session, where the parents of Nursery to Grade 5 were briefed about the curriculum, learning approaches, assessment criteria, and other basic concepts.
We are happy to announce that the state-of-the-art Library and Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) are near completion and we are looking forward to inaugurating them soon. It will be a huge value addition to the learning journey of the students.
In the secondary segment, CBSE pre-boards for Grade 10th and 12th just got over, I wish all the very best for their finals. We are also conducting Learning League 2022, where Grade 6 to 8 (old) students will get an opportunity to clarify the misconceptions and bridge gaps through fun-based activities.
Our students are ready to take a step forward towards another wonderful year of transformative learning. Looking forward to your continued enthusiastic participation in all that happens in school as well as your support!
Kind regards
Ramanjit Ghuman
