Looking ahead to December with a bundle of celebrations
Transitioning to the last month of the year and bidding farewell to the always-endearing memories of 2024, let us not forget the glorious accomplishments of this term. November was staked with the outsized goal of advancing integrated well-being and participation. As we move to December it is important to recall events that were celebrated and festivals that are expected this month.
CNN Call to Earth Day
On the 4th of December, we marked CNN Call to Earth Day. It was good to see that our students took the initiative to protect the earth in new ways such as planting trees and saplings and they also constructed as beautiful bird nests out of waste products. These engagements contributed a long way in strengthening their relationship with the nature around them.
Coffee Meets
As part of our campaign to enhance parents’ engagement, we had wonderful Coffee Meets with our secondary grade parents. A quiet interactive session encouraged parents’ voices and brains, allowing them to comprehend the learning processes of their children. More such meetings have been planned for this month with our Primary Years Programme (PYP) parents, encouraging a meaningful relationship between the school and parents.
Progress Parade
The Progress Parade is scheduled for 12th December, an event for which our young learners have been preparing in great anticipation. It is expected to showcase some exceptional projects on different cultures of our society. This occasion will be an exhibition of creativity, intelligence, teamwork, and students’ toil and inventiveness.
Jingle Joy Christmas Carnival
The Oakridge’s are all set for the much-anticipated Jingle Joy Christmas Carnival on December 14th which will warm the spirit of many. With snow games, activities, fun galore, and much more. A vibranteve nt open to all will add strings of embellishments to the treasured events at Oakridge.
Commemorating the Martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji
The school observed a special assembly in reverence to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji followed by heart warming shabads and prayers as children felicitated the lessons of the importance of heroism and faith which he engraved in the entire community through his power of benevolence.
Dental Camp
Health and safeguarding being the most prioritized domains of our school, and aligning with these, a three-day Dental Camp will be organized starting from 16 December for all the grades. Another endeavour at Oakridge, aiming to provide in-depth knowledge about the root causes and precautions to be undertaken in order avoid minor & major dental procedures.
National Astronomy Challenge,2024
What’s more exciting is that the National Astronomy Challenge 2024 is now open to students from Grades 4 to 9. A drive to create an inquisitive desire for space through learning and exploration.
Community of Endless Opportunities
Oakridge being a leading IB school in Mohali, continues to assemble a pool of opportunities not only for students but also for parents and the encompassing school fraternity. Together, we work to design a rich educational experience characterized by learning and exuberance. We sincerely wish to welcome the new year, 2025, with great expectations enthusiasm, and opportunities in abundance.
Warm regards,
