Meet Ms.Neelima, Grade 4 PYP Homeroom Teacher, Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, Hyderabad who is an expert in teaching creatively to make young learners become problem solvers, risk takers and great collaborators.
“I have done my Masters in Business Administration and have been associated with Oakridge for four years now. I have earlier worked with the diplomats as a volunteer for Indian Association Sharjah to help Indians during the Amnesty period in UAE. Compassion has a lasting impact so is teaching. I strongly believe it is the only profession where one can be selfless and give without condition. Students reflect the same, as I find my previous students make it a point to visit me once every day either during their break or towards the end of the day and show their diaries where my name tops their best friends list! ”
“Each day is a fresh start for me to rediscover and recommit myself to do the best. I enjoy learning and working with diverse groups of students and parents, embracing every opportunity which aids in acquiring knowledge mutually. Not only students push their limits so do I along with them and learning unfolds in exciting and fun ways to develop skills and make us lifelong learners.”
It gives me immense pleasure to lay the right foundation with the right values. Parent feedback saying, “I have never seen such a dedicated teacher even these days who takes great care of each student” gives great satisfaction. My students become confident by participating in Dynamic Dialogue on their interests, concepts and not to forget casual talks; compassionate by sharing their perspective and views on the Radio Channel & assemblies on various issues such as Tailing the Ambulance, Child Rights etc and future ready by participating and taking the surveys forward in their community such as energy conservation, Metro project etc. My students become confident, compassionate and future ready at the end of each year.
Being a part of various school projects especially International School Award has been cherry on the cake.
“As for me – Teaching makes a person more virtuous every passing day as it tutors you back to be transparent”.
