Dear Parents

Let me begin by saying that I hope you all are safe and in the best of health.

As we approach the end of a wonderful and successful term, I am pleased to inform you about the positive increase in student attendance for those who are attending face to face and I wanted to extend my gratitude to all of you for your cooperation to the changes we have put in place during this academic year.

Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam- A Nord Anglia Education School, is the best place for your child to learn and grow. We, at Oakridge have very high expectations from and for each and every student and staff. The motto of ‘Be Ambitious’ has guided and will keep continue guiding our students to set a benchmark to every task they put their minds and hearts. The goal is to enable the learners to foster a lifetime love for learning.

I can assure you about the incredulous amount of hard work that is being done by your children while watching them perform, listen, sing, dance, study, and give their best during this strange ‘new normal’.

During the past two weeks, once more we got to experience the store house of energy and talent of our students. To start with they had a gala time celebrating the Virtual Teacher’s Day.  Words cannot express how happy it was to hear the heart filled messages from our Oakridgers, right from our youngest ones to our senior students, each message delivered was gratifying.  The Prefectural Body left no stone unturned in organising the Special Assembly. It was indeed rewarding to see the gleeful faces of our facilitators after witnessing the event.

Teacher’s Day was followed by the Grand Parent’s Day, where our Oakridgers expressed their gratitude towards their dear grandmas and papas. To celebrate the special connection between Grandparents and children, we observed a virtual Grandparents Day where our students invited their Grandparents for the event. All the love poured in and they were excited to see and know about their Grandchild at School. It was adorable to see all of them together in one screen.

In addition to these celebrations, the second drive for ‘Vaccine for All’ was organised and it gives me immense pride to inform you that all our staff are now fully vaccinated.

Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam has always been committed towards our society and environment. To contribute further we have recently launched ‘Nord Anglia Education Share a Dream’ global project to create awareness among children, making them empathetic towards often overlooked issues and to make them a ‘Global’ citizen…where they act locally while think globally. As a part of this we have recently conducted a book donation drive for the underprivileged.

We are grateful for all the donations received towards the Elephant Lakshmi as a part of our ‘World Elephant Day’ fundraising event. All your donations will be donated to our Visakhapatnam Zoo.

It was a feast for our eyes to watch our Grade 5 students narrate stories in our recent story-telling competition. Children put out their creative and theatrical skills by dressing up in their favourite story character. Thanks to all the parents who went an extra mile to help their children achieve this.

I would also like to inform you that we conducted a one-on-one Career Counselling sessions with our Grade 10 students was fruitful and I feel proud that they have a clear vision towards their goal. The career counsellor in the session interacted with our schoolchildren and essential suggestions were catered to them. We are looking forward to more career guidance sessions.
